Antique English Georgian Conversion Necklace

CIRCA - early to mid 1800s

This stunning necklace started with a beautiful antique Georgian era silver and paste jewelry panel that I purchased in England.  This panel either started life as one piece of a bracelet panel or one piece of a necklace panel.  The clues lie on the sides of the panel which has rows of small loops that most likely were used for attaching rows of beads or pearls.  Around the early 1900s a c-clasp pin was added so the piece could be worn as a brooch.  We have removed the pin so this beautiful historic piece can be worn as a necklace now.  This closed back European silver piece is set with beautiful sparkling old mine cut paste stones with the larger 7 center feature stones being in cut-down collet settings.  The stones are set within 2 connecting heart shapes in this very special and romantic piece.  There is nothing like the sparkle that comes from antique paste stones!
