Circa: 1810-1830, Early Georgian
This English antique conversion necklace began with a gorgeous Georgian era ladies shoe buckle. The sparkling and chunky old mine cut paste rhinestones have interesting table cut tops and are set in a classic cut-down collet with a closed back setting, appropriate to the era. On close inspection you can see that each stone is hand cut and just slightly different from each other. The stones are bright and sparkling with no black or "dead" stones. The central clasp prongs are a lovely bright gilt metal and the silver setting is unmaked but has tested for silver. Simply stunning workmanship on this beauty!
