When your jewelry makes it into the hands of an Academy Award winning actress you can't help but smile and do a little happy dance.
Cate Blanchett plays the title character in "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" (Wilson Webb / Annapurna Pictures)
I am thrilled to announce that one of my antique Victorian era lockets is featured in the new movie "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" starring Cate Blanchett, Kristen Wiig and Billy Crudup. The locket is given to Cate Blanchett's character, Bernadette Fox.
Back in June of 2017 I was contacted by a Prop Master for a film production company and they wanted to purchase one of my antique lockets for a movie they were shooting. They were looking for a very specific type of locket when they came across a locket I had for sale on my website.
The locket is featured in a heartwarming and pivotal scene at the end of the movie that ties the story together. It is pretty exciting to see a piece of your jewelry being held by Cate Blanchett! And I am equally excited that it is in a movie that I found charming, entertaining and family friendly. A rarity in today's entertainment world.
I had to make do with snapping a few shots from the theater screen in the dark, so please forgive the poor image quality for now. I am still shaking my head at the serendipity of it all.
